Charter School Academy
October 13 - October 14
Hello Charter School Principals and APC members,
AASB will be hosting our 3rd academy for charter school principals and APC members. We have heard back from folks across the state that said they would prefer to have this 2-day event in the fall rather than January. Having it earlier in the year conflicts less with other school district events and training and helps boards and principals get started sooner in understanding good governance practices. The dates for this year’s academy will be October 13 & 14 2017 (Friday & Saturday).
We will likely be hosting the event again at the King Career Center in Anchorage, although this has yet to be confirmed. The format will be similar to the past two years however we may split Friday into a 1/2-day for Principals and add a 1/2 day for principals and APC members. This would give us more time to cover more subjects. For participants coming from outside of Anchorage and needing accommodations we will see about getting a block reservation for some hotel rooms somewhere in midtown Anchorage.
We will again be using our online registration system for all participants. Stay tuned for updates and send suggestions our way for topics, etc.
