Linked to Success: A Coordinated Approach to Empowering Districts

AASB and Lynx unite to offer personalized district support services
Jesse Carnahan, CEO, Lynx Education
What we heard: Current State of Affairs
This 70th anniversary of the Association of Alaska School Boards’ Annual Conference served as a vital platform for members to engage around pressing concerns in education – from issues around artificial intelligence and ethics to the staggering challenges that districts face across the state, including the acute issue of Alaska’s teacher shortages, urging collaborative efforts and innovative solutions to attract and retain educators.
As new technologies and tools emerge, we heard from districts their continued commitment to providing more opportunities to their students, advocating for greater and faster internet access, and preserving invaluable in-person experiences in local communities, including experiences in language and culture.
In the end, while it was truly amazing to witness the dedication that board members have and the commitment they bring to the students of the great state of Alaska, it was also clear that districts need support in all the areas listed above.
What we’re doing to help: A Partnership to Support AASB Members
With all of this in mind, AASB and Lynx have developed a strategic collaboration to enhance educational experiences, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of school district administration, and raise student achievement through strategic initiatives with districts and communities.
This partnership supports schools associated with AASB by providing expertise in;
- comprehensive educational consulting,
- language and cultural preservation,
- professional development and creative technologies,
- curriculum development assistance,
- safety and security solutions for schools,
- CTE and industry experience connections,
- technology administration,
- and sustainability planning (including technology buyback programs).
Upcoming Opportunity
We are actively exploring additional cost-saving measures districts need. Drawing on past successful support initiatives, Lynx is working with AASB to provide used equipment buyback and co-op purchasing programs districts can participate in to help offset costs and strategically prepare for the upcoming need districts face of refreshing expensive technology.
What’s Next: Looking Forward and Serving You
These are both exciting and challenging times for schools in Alaska. AASB and LYNX remain committed to meeting districts’ evolving and diverse needs. As we build this nimble and robust partnership, we look forward to serving you and diligently working to meet the needs of administrators, educators, and, most importantly, students. We continue to be thankful for your trust and the honor and opportunity to serve you all.
