We invite Alaska school districts to participate in the 2027 School Climate & Connectedness Survey (SCCS). Each year, Alaska school districts use SCCS data to better understand and strengthen school environments, relationships, and connections among students, staff and families. Participation also provides additional opportunities for grant programs through AASB to support school climate initiatives.

Why participate in SCCS?
The School Climate and Connectedness Survey is a nationally recognized, research-based tool designed to help districts understand perceptions of school climate and identify opportunities to strengthen connection and positive school environments.
Participating districts can:
- Measure student, staff and family perceptions of school climate and their connection to academic outcomes
- Review data and identify trends over time
- Compare school and district results with statewide and urban/rural data
- Identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth
- Receive ongoing technical assistance through webinars, one-on-one support, and survey proctor guides
- Access support for using survey results through in-person or virtual workshops

SCCS’s user-friendly platform makes survey administration, reporting and data exploration easy and interactive. Features include:
- Real-time participation dashboards
- Interactive school and district reports
- Ability to explore responses by grade level, gender, ethnicity, and other student groups
- Set a baseline and track trends over time
- Ability to view results across student, staff, and family groups
