The results for the 2026 School Climate and Connectedness Survey are in! SCCS data helps schools improve relationships and environments to better support student success. Across 28 participating districts, we heard from:
- 38,324 Students
- 11,120 Families
- 5,762 Staff members
Here are some highlights from the 2026 statewide survey. You can access the full statewide results here.
Students and staff reported positive connections and a sense of belonging to their school.
- 76% of students and 90% of staff reported feeling like they belong at their school
- 78% of students reported that adults other than their teachers know their names
- 85% of 3-5 students 78% of 6-12 students reported students having at least one adult at school whom they feel comfortable talking to about things that are bothering them.
Overall school safety and peer climate is improving but there are still opportunities for continued growth on peer interactions.
- 81% of students reported feeling safe at school
- 60% of students reported students treat each other with respect
- 58% of students reported that students are often teased or picked on
Each district has a unique link where you can take a closer look at your results and identify areas of strength / opportunities for growth. These dashboards allow you to compare data over time and comparisons for each school to district and state results. You can also see how perspectives differ across groups such as grade level, gender, race/ethnicity, and attendance.
