The Association of Alaska School Boards Endorses BuyBoard® to Help Districts Streamline Procurement
Juneau, Alaska — The Association of Alaska School Boards is helping its member districts achieve streamlined purchasing, lower administrative costs, and compliance support by entering into an agreement with BuyBoard®, a national purchasing cooperative. Since 1998, BuyBoard has been providing school districts with streamlined purchasing, lower administrative costs, and help in complying with state and local procurement requirements.
BuyBoard awards multiple vendors for each contract through a competitive procurement process, giving members thousands of vendors to choose from, competitive pricing, and the ease of online shopping. “AASB is excited to make this valuable resource available to the districts we serve,” said Lon Garrison, Executive Director. “Using BuyBoard enables Alaska school districts to save time and resources, allowing more resources for student support and services.”
“In addition to offering a quality service to school districts in Alaska, this agreement solidifies the relationship between our states’ associations,” said Brian Bolinger, Associate Executive Director at Texas Association of School Boards, which oversees BuyBoard. “It is important that we build bridges that ultimately make public education much stronger for our students.”
