Tiffany Jackson Chosen As Next AASB Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the Association of Alaska School Boards is pleased to announce the appointment of Tiffany Jackson as its next Executive Director, effective June 1, 2026. Following a nationwide search, Ms. Jackson was chosen to take over the leadership, focusing on the organization’s vision, mission, and current long range plan. 

Ms. Jackson brings over seventeen years of experience as a school board member and currently as a staff member, most recently serving as AASB’s Director of Membership Services. She served twelve years on her local school board, ten years on the AASB Board, serving as president twice, and in 2016 was selected to serve on the National School Board Association Board on which she served until 2020 when she became a staff member at AASB. 

“We are honored to have someone with Tiffany’s experience to lead the dedicated team forward,” said Julia Phelan, Board Chair of AASB and current member of the Delta Greely SD Board. “Her proven track record and her deep passion for strengthening our schools for all the students statewide made her the ideal leader to guide us as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

Ms Jackson shared “I’m deeply honored the board has put their faith in me to serve as the Executive Director. I look forward to working with the board to lead this amazing organization and advocate for Alaska’s children and youth.” 

AASB  is a membership based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advocate for children and youth by assisting school boards in providing quality public education, focused on student achievement, through effective local governance.
