ASK AASB: After certification of an election, when does the board need to reorganize?

Q: After certification of an election, when does the board need to reorganize?

A: State statute says reorganization should occur within seven days after certification. That can be very difficult in some communities, so we recommend you do it as soon as you possibly can after the certified results are published. Many boards have a special meeting just for this purpose. A reminder that this is the only time secret ballots are allowed for voting.
